The committee on Roads & Transportation moves to amend the bill on
page 1, after the enacting clause, after line 14, by striking the
remainder of the bill and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"That the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §17-16A-18b, to read as
follows:
"ARTICLE 16A. WEST VIRGINIA PARKWAYS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND
TOURISM AUTHORITY.
17-16A-18b. Funeral processions exempt from the payment of tolls.
Notwithstanding any provision of this article to the contrary,
motor vehicles and motor vehicle operators in a funeral procession
to a place of funeral service, cemetery, or other place of burial
or internment are exempt from the payment of any toll fee charge on
any parkway project or turnpike: Provided, That this exemption
applies only to motor vehicles clearly displaying flags, emblems or
other visible designation indicating the motor vehicle is a
participant in the funeral procession.
